Alt-Porn Finds a Fan: My dear friend Cindi Loftus (www.CindisNakedTruth.com) is a big fan of Alt-Porn and is making sure I know about it. She ran a story on the Alt-Cred at a film festival going on now and broke out an AVN quote that calls Eon McKai’s latest movie as “innovative… mesmerizing… scorching… pornography of a different stripe.” Since I haven’t seen the movie, I’m not going to doubt the credibility of that quote or the integrity of the person who wrote it. I can say that “Girls Lie” is any of those things, then it will be the first alt-porn flick that could be described as such. I do wonder how many people had to review it before they found who felt this way. After all it was several weeks after I hammered McKai’s “Neu Wave Hookers” that AVN finally came up with a review of the film. Since I’m already on Vivid’s hit list and especially despised by the fancy flavors of the week at Vivid-alt I won’t be getting my copy of “Girls Lie” next week when it stores. I guess that means that nothing has changed in the style and content of alt-porn and they’re afraid that someone might actually tell them what most us already know. All of us but Cindi that is. I’ll let her review the movie for us since the alt-boiz are afraid of what porn fans and independent reviewers might say about their….’art’. What can I say Cin, a whole lot of people liked Boy Bands too.
I'll admit that I was quite disappointed when I contacted the alt-boys and gave them carte blanche to say whatever they wanted about their craft, to tell us all how artistic and cool it was, and even to defend it from detracters, and what I got back from Eon and Malaki was just about nothing. I expected passionate prose about the meaning and beauty of their films d'art. Instead I got wimpy, careful, simple, non-committal, "I'm a lover not a fighter", blah blah blah answers. There was one exception- Of all the directors ( Dave Naz wrote also and he was okay), but believe it or not the one named Winkytiki came through for me, with hysterical, non PC answers. But to move on from the old to the new. There are now a couple Vivid- ALT directors that are girls. Maybe you would like something by them better Rog? Or maybe we should try another company's alt. Any suggestions? I think we should again both watch the same movie and review it separately and then share our results. What do you think? I'll give you one more chance to correct your way of thinking about ALT. Oh, and I don't like boy bands, so there! I love angry whiney Canadians singers like An-anus More-upset and Areal bitchqueen. Sex Z Pictures is happy to present America’s Next Top Porn Model a movie that pokes some sexy fun at Tyra’s daytime TV talk show due in stores Monday, October 23rd.

Veteran director Roy Karch conferred with Sex Z Pictures’ maverick owner Bo Kenney and the two decided to make America’s Next Top Porn Model starring Tyra Banxxx in a fun parody.
“It’s basically a bunch of girls being asked to compete against each other by performing sex scenes,” Karch stated over a turkey on wheat sandwich at a Hollywood eatery. “There is great sex with Tyra Banxxx and the other girls so what more could you want than that,” Karch continued.
The reason Tyra Banxxx was brought onto the Tyra Banks TV show was in hopes that Tyra, the show’s host would be able to convince her to stop using her porn name and quit the adult business.
Flanked by her then boyfriend, Tyra seemed to agree with most everything the mainstream Tyra asked of her including a hastily made decision to stop appearing in porn movies.
“I never wanted to quit adult but she made it seem like I was doing something terribly wrong which just wasn’t the case,” the porn actress said.
“I find it funny that a beautiful girl like Tyra Banks who made her career by walking the runways showing off her tits and ass would criticize a girl for making her living showing off her tits and ass. I really don’t see the two career choices being polar opposites,” commented director Will Rider who is a fan of many of Sex Z Pictures’ movies.

Vivid-Alt’s “Girls Lie,” will have an auspicious world premiere at the 1st Porn Film Festival (www.pornfilmfestivalberlin.de/) in Berlin on Saturday night, October 21st.
The festival begins Wednesday, October 18th and runs through Sunday, October 22nd, with the “Girls Lie” premiere scheduled on Saturday at the Kant 1 Theater. U.S. fans will get a chance to see the movie after it reaches stores across nationwide starting Tuesday, October 24th.
“Girls Lie” is directed by the head of Vivid- Alt, Eon McKai, who is credited as the founder of the alt-porn genre. The film stars Charlotte Stokley, Dana DeArmond, Riley Mason and Pixie Pearl. An AVN reviewer who saw a preview called the film “innovative… mesmerizing… scorching… pornography of a different stripe.”
Soundtrack music is a mix of artists selected by McKai and include some of his current favorites. He said assembling the “Girls Lie” track was “a labor of love.” “I’m almost as proud of the soundtrack as I am of the sex scenes,” he noted. The artists include Panthers, Tommie Sunshine, XBXRX, Wolves in the Thrown Room, C.P., Anavan, Subarachnoid Space and Matmos. Matmos (the combo of Drew Daniel and Martin C. Schmidt) are known for their work with Bjork. A CD of the soundtrack is packaged with a DVD of the movie plus a bonus DVD which includes a behind-the-scenes feature, a bonus scene with Dana DeArmond, multiple photo galleries and a mini documentary entitled “We Weren’t Welcome” about a bad day on the set.
Commenting on the movie McKai says, “Dana lies…Pixie lies and so does Charlotte. Of course, they’ve got their reasons for lying and the movie explores what these reasons are, but we can’t escape the fact that no matter how convincing they sound, girls do lie.”
Accompanying Eon McKai to Berlin will be Vena Virago, the director of “East Side Story,” Malachi Ecks, producer of “Dana DeArmond Does the Internet” and actress Charlotte Stokley, who was featured in both “Skater Girl Fever” and “Girls Lie.” Ms. Stokley will be the cover girl on Germany’s TIP magazine. With a storied and very spicy career spanning parts of four decades, the veteran adult movie director has seen his share of fads and styles come and go but it was with much pleasure that Karch shared a story about a recent email he received from a fan asking him what it’s like to be a black adult movie director in Hollywood.
“I’m a white Jew from New York,” stated the three score director who is still fit and mostly trim from his days on the basketball court at the local YMCA.
Apparently the emailing fan just viewed a copy of White Poles in Dark Holes that Karch produced and directed for Adam & Eve’s hardcore imprint Bad Seed and thought the director must be black. “I take that as a compliment because I’ve directed it all,” he reflected.
That’s an understatement because Karch might as well be Black, Asian, Latino and any number of other ethnic types because the simple truth is that this two time Hall of Fame director has done it all. With a hefty schedule of movies on his upcoming production calendar, Karch is considered a ‘go to’ director for companies looking for a tight story, good acting and great sex. His legendary 40 page scripts have earned him the reputation of being a story guy but the truth is that the words ’all sex videos’ are well within his vocabulary too.
“I have always shot a wide variety of movies and the work I do for such companies as Sex Z Pictures, Adam & Eve, Bad Seed and Wicked and a ton of others bears that out. I love it all and as long as I can wrap the entire production up with a nice bow at the end of the shoot dates and bring it in within budget and on time, I know I’ve done a good job,” Karch stated with his famous bright smile.
In fact, it might pay some of the newcomers a bit of good to pay attention to the path that a veteran like Karch has traveled. “This is an entirely different business than it used to be,” Karch reflected, but that hasn’t slowed down the east coast transplant as he's helped to define the art of adult movie making past and present.
With an impressive string of triumphs including some in the courts, Karch recently celebrated his ongoing fabulous career that shows no signs of slowing down. “I do it because I love it. I still get excited when I’m in production because that’s a good thing.”
Many have called Karch a seasoned veteran because he is. Others have said he was diverse because he is. At least one has called him black which leads us directly to Karch’s latest feature movie starring black actress Tyra Banxxx called America’s Next Top Porn Model due out from Sex Z Pictures Tuesday, October 17th.
Oh yeah, did somebody say Karch is funny, because he is. Diverse, seasoned and almost black just about wraps up what makes Roy Karch one of the adult industry’s most valuable players.
