I always thought I should have my own flake list. I interview so many people in a year that I would probably have quite a long one. Depends on who you count though. I call back in fifteen minutes just in case, sometimes they answer, sometimes not. I call again and leave them a message to please call me back and set up another appointment to do the interview. Sometimes they call back that night or the next day to reschedule, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes I have to chase them a bit, call their agent or their company, or their PR person, call all their numbers and leave messages, e-mail them. Then they finally call me back. Often it’s a phone problem. Cel phones don’t work all that well out in the hills of Cali, or in the desert. Cel phones don’t ring when they are shut off because the girl is filming a last minute sex scene. I tend to forgive all these reasons as long as I get the interview and the star is sweet enough to understand they inconvenienced me and especially if they apologize, which is often. So after all that, really the only people that ever flaked on me and did none of the above were Chasey Lain and Alana Evans. Basically everyone else from the top on down has always come through. That’s not to say that everyone of those interviews have been wonderful and funny and interesting and sexy, but most of them have. So I think I have a pretty good record.
What I have always wondered about was what if you are scheduled to do an interview with me and you just don’t feel like it, or you are hung over, or you are tired, or you had a fight with your boyfriend, or you have a sore throat or your kid kept you up all night screaming or you just don’t feel like talking, do you still do the interview? Or do you use one of the excuses above? Or do you just not answer the phone, and say it didn’t work?
I don’t know the answer, because I have felt all those things but I still had to set up all the equipment, do a couple hours research to write the questions, check out their website and watch at least one of their movies to prepare to make the call, that 25% of the time isn’t answered. I wish to say THANKS so much to the 75% that do answer on time, on the right day, in a good mood and ready to do have a fun interview. Tom Sizemore wouldn’t be one of them, but you know what? I’m not interested in interviewing him anyway…..

The big news today was that, finally after many months of speculation, Video Team became part of Metro Pictures. Video Team Owner, Christian Mann will become Metro's Executive Vice President. Metro will aquire all of VT's catalog and future installments in their on going series such as the highly successful "No Man's Land." The two companies mesh well as far as products go because they have complimentary titles rather that competing ones. It sounds like a good deal all around and I really hope it is. Video team signed Alexis Amore to a contract which will carry over to the move to Metro. Several of VT's key employees will also be moving to metro's offices. Christian is well known for treating his employees and talent fairly and with respect. VT doesn't shoot degrading movies. VT also uses a large amount of racially diverse talent. I just wonder how Christian's well run company will go over merging with Metro's many well publicized troubles including, conflict in management, controversial policies, questionable payment of talent and a revolving door of employees. The best result for all would be if Metro stepped up to Christian's standards and raised the quality of both product, work environment and happiness among employees.
