The GOOD NEWS is that for many years now, as printing costs, paper prices, gas and every other cost associated with producing and delivering our magazines has risen, we have firmly held the line and spared our advertisers a rate hike throughout the duration. Thanks mainly to the counterballance of savings afforded us due to the effeciency of new advanced technology.
The bad news, however, is that the inevitable has arrived. With our costs ever increasing and no place else to save or cut back, sooner or later something's got to give in order to continue to offer the same quality product s in print and expand your service to the web and deliver the same dependable results without an accross the board rate increase. But, also keeping in mind that we all share in the burdens of today's economy, in order to keep the rate increase to the minimum possible we have decided to institute a two part plan:
1) We feel the first and fair place to make that adjustment is with our ad design service. Many of our advertisers give us finished "camera ready" ads designed by themselves or outside designers they hire and supply us with finished ads, ready to go. In fact, the rates we charge in Xcitement and Adult Fun 411 are for just that, the "ad space" only. Through the years we have accommodated advertisers needing help with design, but starting in 2008 we will be charging nominal fees for ad design work requested by advertisers based on an "a' la carte menu" of services. This way, advertisers that use the services will pay the cost but only for the services they use, not a flat rate. But, please note, even these fees are FAR below those you would be charged by outside designers for similar work.
In all fairness, you can understand that it doesn't make sense for us to charge someone giving us a finished, ready to go ad that we only have to place, the same amount that we charge someone that we have to pay a designer for an hour or more to create an ad and perhaps also supply very expensive pictures from our licensed library and graphics, And one thing for sure, the "camera ready" price isn't going down!!!!!!
2) A maximum 5% Ad Rate Raise.
We hope as business owners you'll understand what we are up against and that as it goes with just about everything else you purchase for use in, by and for your business these days, some rising cost, for EVERYTHING........ even for Xcitement, is unavoidable.

Stock Photos: A charge of $10.00 per photo for each photo used in customer’s ad (Some higher for “Special Collections”)
