In what’s sure to be viewed as a wrong-way direction in social change, “Roxxxy” the robot lifesized girlfriend was introduced at AEE 2010, the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas. Roxxxy robot lifesized girlfriend is a anatomically correct facsimile of a woman dressed for sex, and with “servos” and other electronics to make it seem, well, real. It’s maker calls it the first “sex robot.”

Roxxxy robot lifesized girlfriend was created by former Bell Labs employee Douglas Hines, who’s overweight, balding, bespectacled look fits the perfect image of a guy who would make such a thing.

Douglas Hines says that he developed Roxxxy robot lifesized girlfriend after losing a friend in the 9-11 terrorist attack. Just who that friend is, Douglas Hines does not say, leaving one to wonder if he just spent too much money at strip clubs.

More than 400 of the top porn stars and “eXXXotica Legends” are at the NJ Expo Center in Edison, New Jersey this weekend for the annual (and inaccurately named) eXXXotica New York convention.
The industry event, billed as “The largest adult event on the East Coast,” opens to the public today from 1:00 to 11pm, and tomorrow from Noon to 7pm, and features performances and autograph signings for fans of adult entertainment, as well as performances by the likes of 2 Live Crew and seminars on such topics as “Everything You Wanted to Know About Porn” and “How Wicked Are You?”
The main event tonight is the annual Ms. eXXXotica competition, and there are after parties featuring many of the stars planned at clubs all over town. Promoters are expecting over 20,000 people for the event over the course of the weekend. The industry event, which follows the annual eXXXotica Miami Beach convention held in May, also features exhibits from adult novelty manufacturers and distributors, adult video companies, fashion and lingerie manufacturers, erotic artists and photographers, nightclubs and restaurants, jewelry and body art companies, and more.

Um, I’m not sure how to tell you this, but there’s a porn star in my pocket.

Okay — that might have come across the wrong way. Apple has just approved two “porn star apps” into its tightly controlled App Store, you see, and I downloaded them to my iPod Touch. Strictly, of course, in the name of research.

Porn Stars Meet App Store

The apps, developed by Grindhouse Mobile, focus on two porn professionals: Ms. Sunny Leone and Ms. Aria Giovanni. (If those names don’t ring a bell, don’t worry: That just means you don’t devote copious amounts of time to studying the prurient arts.) The programs are both now available as downloads for iPhone and iPod Touch users.

Baffled? Bewildered? Bedazzled? Be patient; I’ll explain.

The cause for confusion, in case you aren’t up on all things apps, is that Apple isn’t exactly known for letting risqué material into its App Store’s shelves. When the iPhone gods approved their first-ever pornographic app this past June — a sultry little program called “Hottest Girls” — the blogosphere uttered a collective gasp of shock. In that case, though, the app’s approval lasted only a matter of hours before Apple pulled the plug, saying the developer had skirted its censors by adding the adult-oriented content after the review had taken place.

So how could an actual porn star app — make that two of them — get past Apple’s heavily guarded gates? It’s simple: The apps may be about porn stars, but they aren’t actually pornographic. (I’ll pause for the group sigh of disappointment.) The programs are collections of PG to PG-13 photos, along with some limited videos and a porn star-penned blog. Yeah… not nearly as titillating as the company makes it sound.

To be fair, Grindhouse does say it tried to push the boundaries a bit more, but Apple wasn’t into it. Its first attempt at a porn star app was shot down for being overly explicit, the company says, so it toned things down to meet the App Store’s standards.

Hey, at least the trusty iPhone browser can still access any kind of material you might desire, X-rated or otherwise. That’s what I hear, anyway — I certainly wouldn’t have any firsthand knowledge of such matters.

The Fans of Adult Media Entertainment (F.A.M.E.) Awards crowned its 2009 champions this weekend at the Erotica LA convention, with adult film stars Tera Patrick and Evan Stone taking the top prizes, Tori Black winning Favorite Rookie Starlet, and the headlines-making Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge taking Favorite Feature Movie honors.
The F.A.M.E. Awards is an annual ceremony recognizing fan favorites in adult media – sort of a People’s Choice of Porn – and coincides with the Erotica LA convention. This was the 4th annual event.
Tera Patrick has now taken Favorite Female Starlet three years in a row at the F.A.M.E. Awards. She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame this year, and is also now the star of the bedroom-instructional School of Sex series on Playboy TV, in addition to her many adult films.
Evan Stone starred as the ship’s captain in Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge from Digital Playground, the film that went on to cause controversy at the Univeristy of Maryland and across the country with its screening tour of college campuses. Among other films, Stone also starred – again, as the captain – in Hustler’s perfectly timed Star Trek porn spoof This Ain’t Star Trek XXX, capitalizing on the J.J. Abrams reboot.
Favorite Rookie Starlet winner Tori Black was a Penthouse Pet in December 2008 and has starred in dozens of adult films since her 2007 debut.
