“Granny’s” Attack Porn! Nah! Just more of the typical nutcases afterall! But these nuts could be dangerous!
Uniontown, Indiana, has been fighting a porn shop for three years since the county council permitted the business.
About three dozen area residents have been at the forefront of the fight, along with two grandmothers who have been stalwarts in the campaign. One of the grandmothers — Joyce Gillaspy — says they are serious about shutting down the shop.
“And some of us even went to jail in protest because we blocked the drive, trying to finish the building, from getting it done [sic],” she said. Several have maintained a vigil and they say it has worked because truckers have stopped visiting the shop. “We call and let the companies know their trucks are in this porn store, and they don’t want their trucks being seen [there],” says Gillaspy.
Debbie Howard stands side by side with Gillaspy. “When customers pull in, we take photographs and [license] plate numbers, and then the War-Line deciphers which ones they want to put on,” said Howard.
The War-Line is a website that helps the protesters go public. Howard was asked if they have caught flak from some of the customers, to which she replied, “Yeah, there’s been a lot of incidences go down.”
The protesters say there are two problems — there is no police department, and local regulations on porn shops have not been enforced. Owners of the porn shop have sued the county, claiming the protesters have cost them $300,000 in business.

So this is a LEGAL BUSINESS being HARASSED and losing revenue because of it! I am all about 1st Amendment Rights BUT….. I don’t think that should mean that anyone can stand outside your door and harass your customers if you are running a legal business of any kind! If you don’t like that business, DON’T GO THERE!!!!! And get others not to go there if you like, but NOT in front of their LEGAL business!
I absolutely HATE Italian Provincial furniture, I think it is SOoooooo fucking ugly that it is OBSCENE!!!!! (That’s just my opinion) Does that give me the right to stand outside of a store that sells that ugly crap and make fun of their lousy taste in furniture?
How about I stand there and take pictures of everybody that comes out of that store and put them up on www.IHaveIncrediblyBadTaste.com!!!!!
How about if I go take a picture of Grandmas Joyce Gillaspy and Debbie Howard find out where they live, and post that on a website so people that enjoy porn, maybe even her “not so clean and Holy neighbors” can get out in front of their “Homes Of Sanctimony“ and picket for them to shut the fuck up and mind their own business!
What gives them the right to take pictures of peoples license plates like that for going into a legal business like that? And who the fuck are they to declare that that place is a “Bad Place”?
If anybody ever did that to me, trust me they would have stepped in a pile of trouble. The fucking NERVE!!

Ok… I tried. I tried really hard to give the story and these “Grandmas” the benefit of the doubt. You’ll notice the News Story referenced above says “Indiana Grandmas” there’s no mention of the thing that USUALLY goes along with stories like this…. RELIGION! So, trying to be “Fair & Balanced” I thought “Maybe this time it’s just some Grandmothers that don’t like porm! Maybe this one has nothing to do with a church and a small group of church goers with nothing better to do.” As you can see, I started writing this item without even questioning the possibility!
NO…. I knew it, I knew they would NEVER let me down. Peel it back and it ALWAYS, ALWAYS comes back to this, doesn’t it? But here’s the thing, this really has NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH RELIGION! I’ll say that again, this really has NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH RELIGION! What it iHAS to do with is a bunch of intollerant, self absorbed, selfish, mean spirited, “Holier than thou”, most probably hypocrites that USE religion to GET WHAT THEY WANT. They don’t like porn and they don’t want you to have it either whether you like it or not. No, this is not “Religion”, this is “ASSHOLISM”! But, it’s still done in “the name” of religion, every time and these are the very same people that give religion a BAD NAME!
USERS! Users of anything for their cause.
Protect the children! They used to use that a lot but now they’re moving into more forceful tactics used to out “Johns” frequenting street hookers. But there is a BIG difference here. This store is LEGAL, the products sold inside the store are LEGAL and these people frequenting this establishment are doing absolutely NOTHING WRONG!
You’ll notice on the War-Line Site (SEE BELOW) they have a picture of a very sad women’s face with the slogan “Sexual Assault & Rape Hurt Forever and Ever!” Like everyone going into an adult bookstore is a rapist! I hate to tell them but they’d have an easier time snaring a rapist standing outside a CHURCH! And that is a STATISTICAL FACT!

There is no reason for these people to be out here doing this, because the store is the only thing off the exit. There are no houses or towns.

Read the site. This person is obviously a mental case! And I can’t help think of other mental cases of the ilk of Mark Foley and a long list of other hypocrites. No, no accusations made, let’s just say I would be highly un-shocked if it turned out to be the case. I find the louder they protest these sort of things, the more of a hypocrite they turn out to be. And THAT is a statistical FACT as well/
Yes, we have protests in this area. (Florida) But this, this is crossing the line. This cause isn’t that important for tactics like these to be used and I have my doubts to their legality! There are stalking laws! On the site they threaten to:
“follow customers and employees of Lion’s Den to their homes and distribute flyers in their neighborhood”
“expose government officials, police, government agencies and even judges if they demonstrate corruption or lack of spine in enforcing federal, state and local laws which they are empowered to enforce in the protection of the people they are pledged to serve,”
“We will track you down from your license plate.”… ” We will follow you home”…… “come to your neighborhood and distribute flyers”
This is serious or at least MORE SERIOUS. This is FANATICISM and it is potentially very DANGEROUS! What’s next? A shooting of a store owner or employee? Or A customer? Not Possible? Tell that to the Abortion Doctors that were shot dead performing LEGAL medical procedures because some nuts like this didn’t like it and preferred their “Fast Track Tactics” to any other method like changing the law. Or maybe a bomb? Can’t happen, want to bet? Or maybe they will just burn the place down? Why not? If someone got killed, hey, collateral damage! They, just like the Abortion Doctor killers think they have God on their side! They’re just doing god’s work! God doesn’t like porn.
Or maybe one of those stalked patrons, that ends up losing a job or a wife and a “Life” or livelyhood because he dared to buy a legal porno will “lose it” and put a bullet into one of these nutcases! But then it will be “See! See that’s what these deviates are all about!” Because you can’t talk logic with nutcases!
But again, this really has NOTHING to do with God. Just a bunch of FANATICAL NIMBY-ers using God and the Church to justify their cause and actions.
I don’t plan on stopping here with this one post! I have had discussions with their lawyers and hope to have a statement, update and information soon. This “Little Scuffle with the Grandmas” I believe is the “one to watch.” I think this is a lot bigger than it seems! I plan on doing MUCH detective work to find out EXACTLY who the players are and shine some light on this subject. Wanna bet some roaches start scattering?!!!!!
I would appreciate if ALL of our industry news sites would please pick this story up, again! I expect to do several follow ups and I think this “Little Town” is going to be home to a “Big Battle” for the Adult Entertainment Industry.
